This escape room is based on the Zodiac Killer film and follows through a series of rooms. The first 3 rooms are themed well and have an intriguing atmosphere. The decor and props were appropriate to the story and of good quality. The final room did come across as slightly random and didn’t seem to follow the theme of the rest of the rooms.
Some of the puzzles were imaginative and fun to work out. Others, however, relied more on guesswork than logic which interrupted the flow of the game.
Overall, there were some good aspects of the room.
This was my first ever escape room and what a room – it is no surprise that I got the bug! My friends and I had never done an escape room before so didn’t actually have a clue what we were meant to be doing. With good humour, the gamemaster gave us a lot of clues and luckily, we made it to the end – just.
Both the storyline and decor were fantastic and helped to create a rustic yet mystical atmosphere. The range of puzzles were amazing and there was a brilliant surprise in the last room – I won’t give any spoilers away.
With hindsight, I wish I had been more experienced when going in the room as at the time, I didn’t fully appreciate it. Overall it is a well-planned room with excellent puzzles and theming. I would highly recommend this one if you find yourself in Belfast.
